Monday - Friday
5:30AM - 11AM - Rob Arrow
Peak morning show host Robert Arrow was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, the son of a classical violist. As a toddler, his favorite toy was a record player; by junior high school he was dee-jaying parties. Rob has been heard on radios in New England, California and Pennsylvania as an air talent and program director. A true music fan, Rob gave early airplay to such artists as Elvis Costello, Pretenders, U2, R.E.M., Smithereens, Suzanne Vega, Dave Matthews, Counting Crows and many others. He's been a programming consultant to radio stations all over the country including rock stations in New York City. Rob has two daughters living in Rockland County and is The Peak's Assistant Program Director and Music Director.
11AM - 3PM - Chris Herrmann
Chris Herrmann grew up outside of Boston and spent all his newspaper money on two turntables one day when he was 10. By High School he was a DJ on the student radio station and was the Music Director of his fully commercial FM college station. Chris’ professional career started at WHJY in Providence, RI where he started as the overnight weekend DJ and eventually became the Music Director and interim Program Director. From there, he became the Assistant Program Director at Detroit’s powerhouse Classic Rock station WCSX. Then he was off to Boston as the Program Director of WBOS. Chris is now the midday personality and Program Director for The Peak.
3PM - 7PM - Jimmy Fink
Jimmy’s been at The Peak almost from its inception, joining 107.1 in June of 2004. He has a degree in Speech Communications from The American University in Washington DC and has been on the air for more than three decades on several radio and television networks and stations in the New York and DC metropolitan areas. Jimmy has been an integral part of FM radio as it grew from infancy in the 70’s into the multi-billion dollar industry it is today, becoming a well known, popular air personality and a permanent fixture in the New York rock & roll radio community. He has worked for ABC, NBC, Infinity Broadcasting, as well as HBO and Cinemax. Jimmy wrote and produced “Rolling Stone Magazine’s Continuous History of Rock & Roll” and hosted “Rock Watch”, both programs syndicated on radio stations world wide. Musically, Jimmy’s taste runs the gamut from The Beatles to Death Cab for Cutie and everything in between. His tastes are so wide-ranging, with an open ear for virtually any style of popular music, making his association with The Peak the perfect fit. “I am so thankful to work on a station that gives me the opportunity to expose my listeners to new music,” says Jimmy Fink “and I’m thrilled to be focused on the community so close to home.” Jimmy’s is dedicated to a couple of local charities, most notably the Pediatric Cancer Foundation and Westchester’s Open Door Medical Centers. He and his wife, Debbie both grew up in Eastchester and are lifelong residents of Westchester County with three kids in the Scarsdale school system.
7PM 10PM Mike Batiste
Mike “The Kid” Batiste grew up right here in New York’s Backyard. “My first impression of radio was listening to X107 when I was in middle school, it was the coolest thing in the world and now to be a part of Rock Radio is an honor.” After running his college radio station for a couple of years, Mike walked in to The Peak a few weeks after we started and was our first intern. “I saw the advertisement on the back of a bus, found the address on the website and hoped they could use some help.” 2 years later, Mike is the host of The Peak “After Hours.”
Caroline Corley - Weekends
Caroline Corley started her radio career at Georgia State University in Atlanta. At the time, WRAS was the largest, entirely student-run radio station in the country. “We actually made rock and roll history once when Bob Geldof of The Boomtown Rats came in to the studio. Back then, the station had one of those loud old-fashioned teletype machines like you see in the movies. There was some big story coming across the wire and the damn thing was so distracting that Bob stopped the interview to read the story live on the air. Inspired by that news report, later that afternoon he penned the biggest hit record of his career, I Don’t Like Mondays.”
Having been brainwashed by years and years of watching WKRP In Cincinnati, Caroline left her childhood home in Atlanta to chase her rock and roll dreams up and down the dial. After being fired from every (yes, EVERY) rock station in Denver she came to New York to collect legendary station call letters like Pam Anderson collects rock star boyfriends WLIR (just before their tragic demise), WYNY when they were country (just before their tragic demise), and WCBS-FM (just AFTER their tragic demise!).
She considers it an honor to be the “go to” guy at The Peak. “I only got this job because I told Chris Herrmann that I lived 3 miles from The Peak and if anybody ever called in sick I could be here in, like, 10 minutes.”
Caroline lives in Elmsford with her Chocolate Lab, Mick Jagger. “He’s a rock and roll God! I mean dog…he’s a rock and roll dog.” She hopes one day to have a real job and to own furniture that doesn’t require assembly.
Chris Bro Weekends Host of “Next”
Chris Bro is a DJ and the Host of NEXT -- the Peak’s new music show, which airs twice a week. NEXT was recently picked as the “Best of Westchester” by Westchester Magazine. A devoted music geek, Chris’ goal is to find you your next new favorite song. If you give him an hour he will make you musically hip. He has introduced Peak listeners to the likes of Wilco, Amy Winehouse, Spoon, Sliversun Pickups, Kaiser Chiefs, Rilo Kiley, and Grace Potter. Chris grew up in Chicago on the sounds of XRT. From his beginnings as an intern just outside of Chicago, he has been heard over the past decade on the air in New Mexico, Atlanta and Annapolis, Maryland before settling here in New York’s backyard. In addition to music, his passions are his two young kids, soccer, beer, and fantasy football.
Bruce Figler - Weekends
Back on-the-air after a 20-year hiatus, Bruce has gone full circle, returning to the frequency he started out at many years before. A one-time fixture at the old WRNW, the early Westchester rock station that ‘The Peak’ is a direct descendant of, ‘the Figman’ as he was affectionately known, moved from there to work on-air at WTFM and WAPP in New York City. Tiring of the numbing ‘sameness’ of New York radio during that stretch, he eventually opted out of the business to pursue a new life as an audio producer. Always, in the back of his mind however, was a return to the airwaves ‘if’ and only ‘if’, the right station came along. Well, it was a long time in coming, but finally in 2004, that station came along. After simply serving as an appreciative listener for over a year, he decided that the time was right and signed-on. A lover of many genres of music, he believes that one of the reasons The Peak is so appealing to him is that it crosses so many musical boundaries and is willing to take chances.
Bruce enjoys the fact that his two children, having not been around for his earlier on-air stint, are catching him now in his return engagement. Having lived in Westchester County for over 25 years, he is not only happy to be playing World Class Rock in New York’s backyard, he’s also happy to be playing World Class Rock in his own backyard.
Carl Mayer - Weekends
Carl Mayer grew up in Fairfield, Connecticut, and has lived in Westchester for several years. His first radio experience was as a news anchor at WMUB, an NPR station located on the campus of Miami University in Ohio, where he majored in Mass Communication. Carl has long been a fan of rock radio, and has been a Peak listener since its inception in 2004. “I love that we play classics like Squeeze, REM and Talking Heads,” Carl says, “but to me the best part is discovering, and spreading the word about, great new artists that listeners might not be familiar with yet. I’m thrilled to be a part of that.”
Mars - Weekends/Fill-In
Paul Marszalek is a veteran Radio and TV programmer having served as VP of Music Programming for VH1, Operations Manager of KFOG in San Francisco and Assistant Program Director and evening personality on WXRT in Chicago. Paul is currently managing partner of Media Mechanics, a radio and television consulting firm with clients that include Radio Free Europe, Colorado Public Radio and, of course, 107.1 The Peak.
